"INTO Diploma programme" pathway to 2d Year of University• International Diploma of Business Management, Accounting and Economics
• International Diploma in Computing and Business Information Systems
These programmes are the equivalent of the first year of a relevant University of East Anglia
degree. They offer an alternative pathway into undergraduate degree study.
Appropriately qualified students can choose this programme to enter UK higher education without the need to complete the INTO Foundation.
Successful completion of the programme leads to the award of the University of East Anglia International Diploma, equivalent to the Certificate of Higher Education which carries CATS (Credit Accumulation and Transfer Scheme) credits.
This enables INTO Diploma students to apply for entry to the second year of a UK undergraduate degree.
The Diploma programme is three terms in length, starting each September and January.
Key features
Intensive academic preparation
The Diploma programme is as academically demanding as a traditional university first year course so students are given all the support they need to ensure success – small working groups, personal attention, English language and study skills tuition.
Study skills
Essential preparation for university life, Study Skills provides support with group work, presentations, research methods, lecture note taking, essay design and planning and understanding methods of self evaluation.
English language support
English language is a core subject in the Diploma programme, with up to ten hours of lessons per week covering reading, writing, listening and speaking. The course ensures students reach the entry requirement for the second year of a degree.
The intensive English language support enables international students to commence their university level study before they have formally met the stipulated entrance requirement for undergraduate programmes at the University. This, combined with flexible start dates helps ensure that students avoid
delays or unnecessary extensions to their studies.
